Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park - Lake Elsinore, Calif. - September 8

Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park is the newest stop on the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship scheduled and will serve as the new Southern California home of the Nationals.

Lake Elsinore has a strong legacy in the sport, serving as the site of the iconic film On Any Sunday.

After shutting its doors in mid-2010, the track reopened last November as Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park and now serves as a state-of-the-art facility for all types of off-road competition, both two- and four-wheeled.

Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park has a permanent off-road stadium that hosts two rounds of the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing series. The layout for the Red Bull Lake Elsinore National will include a section within this venue.

At approximately 1.5 miles, Lake Elsinore is the longest track on the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship schedule.

Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park is located within the heart of the motocross industry in Southern California, mere minutes from many team headquarters and riders' homes.

450 Class Stats

Ryan Dungey is enjoying an nine-round overall winning streak, winning 16 of the last 18 motos. He has swept the motos in seven of those nine wins and is looking to equal the overall win total from his championship-winning 2010 rookie season.

With his nine wins, Dungey has already helped KTM sit fifth on the all-time manufacturers' wins list, surpassing Husqvarna (8), Bultaco (4), Can-Am (4), and CZ (3). Prior to 2012, KTM had never won a 450 Class race.

Dungey has won 40 of the 70 motos he's entered in his 450 Class career (57%), claiming the overall in 23 of 35 races (65%). He already sits third on the all-time wins list, behind only Ricky Carmichael and Bob Hannah.

Comparatively, through his first 35 career 450 Class races, Ricky Carmichael captured 27 overall victories.

Carmichael also earned 1,575 career points through the first 35 races of his 450 Class career, while Dungey has amassed 1,587 points over that same span.

Dungey is the only rider in the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship to finish on the podium in every moto. His worst result was third in the first moto of the season.

Mike Alessi has finished on the overall podium in eight of 11 rounds and has secured the runner-up spot in the championship as a privateer. He also has one moto win.

Josh Grant's third-place finish at Steel City was his first podium result since winning at RedBud during the 2009 season. It was the first podium result for Jeff Ward Racing Kawasaki.

While first and second place in the championship have been decided, a battle for third is taking place between Andrew Short, Jake Weimer, and Broc Tickle. Six points separate Short from Weimer, while Tickle sits an additional 18 points behind.
