Bostrom Quickest Under the Lights Too

2008 AMA Supersport champ and Daytona race winner Ben Bostrom closed the first day of tire testing at Daytona International Speedway the same way he opened it, clocking the fastest time in the AMA Pro Daytona SportBike class.

The Yamaha USA pilot topped the charts under the lights with a 1:50.998 lap, just three tenths off the mark he posted in the much warmer morning session.

Team M4 EMGO Suzuki's Martin Cardenas was next fastest at 1:51.256, followed by '08 FX champ Jake Zemke, who pushed the Erion Honda SportBike around the long course with a fastest lap of 1:51.340, just fractionally better than Cardenas' teammate, Cory West (1:51.368).

Saturday's testing will follow the same
schedule as used on Friday, with the Daytona SportBikes taking to the track from 9:00am until noon, followed by the American Superbikes from 1:00pm until 5:00pm on the short course, with the SportBikes returning to the long course under the lights from 6:00pm until 9:00pm.
