Huntley Nash earned 11th on Sunday in AMA Pro Daytona SportBike, improving four positions in race two of the weekend.
Nash was able to improve his pace for the second 22-lap race of the weekend and was able to finish closer to his expectations of delivering a top-ten result to the team.
Despite two red flags, Huntley was able to build some momentum in what was a tough weekend. Nash showed professionalism in setting goals in the race, and then he accomplished them.
“I’m pretty happy. I did my fastest lap of the weekend at 1:41.3 and tried a new, harder tire, which I liked better. It gave me a better feeling, and I thought it was a lot better. My goal for the race was to be consistent with my lap times and do the best I could at a track I don’t really care for very much. I was trying to stay in the 1:42 range and get some training in for Miller. I thought 11th was a decent result, and I went faster here than I ever went before. Now, we got to two of my favorite tracks in Miller and Road America.”
A mechanical issue ended David Gaviria’s race early after six laps.
Huntley and David next race at Miller Motorsports Park 26-28.
