Country music star and motocross competitor Craig Morgan is scheduled to perform and ride at next week's AMA Air Nautiques Amateur National Championship Finals. The event, known as America's largest amateur motocross race, is being held at Loretta Lynn's Ranch July 28 through Aug. 2.
Morgan will ride the track on Thursday, July 31 during the first intermission followed by a concert presented by Kawasaki at the AMSOIL Arena, beginning at 8 p.m.
Known as country music's "stealth star," Morgan manages to fit his passion for motocross racing into a schedule that includes more than 200 shows per year, international travel to perform for U.S. troops, and visits to radio stations to promote his upcoming album Love Remembers. On Sundays, Morgan can usually be found at a Hare Scramble in Tennessee, Alabama, Indiana, Kentucky or Ohio.
"I'm as passionate about racing as I am about my music," said Morgan. "I take my practice bike on the road with me and I ride whenever I can. Usually we have a concert on Saturday and most races are on Sunday, so I sleep on the bus on the way home, hop in the truck the next day and meet my family at the races. It may seem like a lot, but I love it."
"We're excited to have Craig join us at Loretta's this year," said Event Director Tim Cotter. "Craig is an extremely passionate guy that loves his family, his music and his racing. He's a perfect fit within the Loretta Lynn's program."
