BAYNE FAST IN PM SESSION: The second day of Sprint Cup preseason testing at Daytona International Speedway has ended with former Daytona 500 winner Trevor Bayne atop the speed chart at 199.650 miles per hour. Seven drivers topped 199 during the Friday afternoon session.

KEZ: WRECK TO LEARN: A learning experience? Defending Sprint Cup champion Brad Keselowski, who was one of the victims of the multi-car crash in Friday afternoon’s testing session at Daytona, looked on the bright side of it. “This is just the way this deal is,” he said. “It is unfortunate, but sometimes you have to wreck them to learn.”

[Friday 4:15 pm ET]

TRUEX: NEW DRAFT LIKE OLD DRAFT: The “new” Daytona draft could be a lot like the old, prior to tandem drafting, according to Martin Truex Jr. “The biggest thing was just how the draft was working kind of more like it used to be,” Truex said of Friday testing. “There were no two-car tandems. It was somewhat difficult to get on a guy’s bumper and push him, but again you get that little air bubble between you, and you could get a guy rolling and get a guy moving in front of your and give him some good momentum and make some passes.”

[Friday 2:00 pm ET]

MULTI-CAR CRASH: A multi-car crash has interrupted Friday afternoon’s testing session. Marcos Ambrose spun near the front of a big pack, sparking chaos behind him. Multiple cars were damaged, including those of Kasey Kahne, Brad Keselowski, Jamie McMurray and Jeff Gordon.
