PROGRAMMING NOTE: The MotoGP season finale from Valencia will air on SPEED on Sunday, November 8th at 6:00pm ET, immediately following coverage of the 250GP race.

For the seventh time in ten seasons Australian crew chief Jerry Burgess has supervised Valentino Rossi's race team to victory in the MotoGP world championship.

Three of those titles came with Honda and now four with Yamaha.

Burgess has now been crew chief for 13 premier class
championships in 22 years since 1987 -- Wayne Gardner (1), Mick Doohan (5) and Rossi (7).

Impressive numbers, especially when you add in three world championships with Freddie Spencer when Burgess worked as a senior technician with Erv Kanemoto's factory Honda squad.

With nine career titles so far across all classes, even Rossi concedes he will never match the strike rate of the garage guru who he insists must run his team on race weekends.
