It only took Jorge Lorenzo ten minutes to make his mark in FP3 at Laguna Seca.
The Laguna fog held on deep into the morning, resulting in a very calm and quiet track throughout the majority of the session with only American wild card Steve Rapp and fellow CRT men Ivan Silva and James Ellison circulating until less than 20 minutes remained.
At that point Ben Spies headed out onto the circuit and immediately started posting respectable times less than two seconds off Dani Pedrosa's Friday best.
With ten to go the majority of the field followed suit -- with the notable exception of the factory Hondas of Pedrosa and Casey Stoner.
Lorenzo swooped in and lowered the times into the '21s, cutting a 1:21.445 that was only a fraction off his FP2 mark. Spies gave Yamaha a practice 1-2, with Ducati's Nicky Hayden making it two Americans in the top three.
Rapp ran considerably quicker than he did on Friday in his quest to qualify the developing Attack Performance CRT machine. His '27.4 was only three tenths outside the limit, suggesting he has a real shot at making the show come this afternoon's QP.
