MOTOGP: Lorenzo Still The Man Despite Rossi Return
The tables have turned as Valentino Rossi will return to Yamaha as the clear #2 rider to MotoGP World Championship favorite Jorge Lorenzo.

Once an untouchable superstar, Valentino Rossi will rejoin the Yamaha factory team in 2013 as #2 to established star Jorge Lorenzo.
Lorenzo is Yamaha's main asset and he has given his blessing for the return of Rossi who will try to reprise past glories at the age of 34 when he is back on an M1 next year.
In a bid ensure that Lorenzo had no issues Yamaha bosses briefed him on the Rossi proposal even before a deal had been completed with the seven-time MotoGP World Champion. That briefing took place at Mugello during the Italian GP in July.
And Yamaha's MotoGP boss Lin Jarvis is emphatic that Lorenzo "is our #1 rider" and nothing will be done to destabilize his campaign to win the 2013 championship.
Not only will Rossi now be understudy to Lorenzo, the rider who forced him to leave Yamaha because he was so fast in 2010, he had to accept a pay cut.
"Our main investment is in Jorge and Jorge is the #1 candidate to be champion both this year and definitely the #1 candidate to be champion next year," Jarvis said. "So it is very important to give Jorge full support. There is nothing we will do to put Jorge's chance of success into jeopardy and this is a very important consideration."
During his first seven-year stint at Yamaha (2004-2010) Rossi won 46 races and four world titles but not before showing his displeasure with Lorenzo's presence and pace, insisting on a garage wall and no data sharing.
Lorenzo has remained loyal to Yamaha and his desires will be paramount in deciding Yamaha team politics.
For his part Lorenzo says he has no problems with Rossi returning and he was one of the first to know about the plan.
