PROGRAMMING NOTE: The Japanese Grand Prix from will air LIVE on SPEED at 2:00am EST and re-air at 2:00pm EST on Sunday October 3rd.

Valentino Rossi has dismissed unfounded rumors that he will set-up, own, and manage his own team to enter the Moto2 World Championship next year.

The stories, circulated on some websites and electronic magazines last week, carried no supporting statements from Rossi who was said to be funding the Moto2 team.

Young Italian rider Andrea Iannone, who has won three Moto2 races this season, was reported as being the rider for the new Rossi team.

Rossi's best friend and long serving race assistant, Alessio "Uccio" Salucci, was to be team manager. Uccio has been assisting Iannone on a personal sponsorship level this year.

But in advance of Sunday's Japanese Grand Prix at Motegi Rossi denied that he has any plans for his own team and that he had to disappoint job applicants

“A lot of people have called me about this, some friends who are mechanics saying if I make a team then give them a job," Rossi said. "I don’t know anything. Uccio has been helping Andrea this year and I think he went to speak about next year to see if he has a place for a team.

"Maybe they see Uccio and they think me. But I am not involved because I am not interested. Uccio has been finding some sponsors to give him some contacts."
