Forward Racing

Considerable improvements in the NGM Mobile Forward Racing pit box after yesterday’s electronic problems on Colin Edwards Suter – BMW bike. Both Friday sessions did not prove to be productive and during this morning’s FP3 the American rider was not able to go under 2´11.935, which was barely higher that his best lap time during FP2.

The team’s efforts have paid off by finding a good solution for the setup of the bike and allowing Edwards to register a noticeable improvement by making his Fast lap in 2´07.376. More than 4 seconds gained that allow the American rider to be in 5th row on the starting grid for tomorrow’s race.

Tomorrow the British GP MotoGP race will begin at 13:00 local time.

Colin Edwards – 15th (2´07.376)

“I am not overjoyed by the qualifying position but considering how few laps I got in this weekend I feel we did the best we could. As windy as it was and the rain, I felt we could go faster. Trying to get the whole bike setting done in a matter of a handful of laps, doing a couple of laps here and stopping to adjust the bike, do a couple of laps and come in again, typically it’s not the best way to setup a bike but we had to try to do what we could, as fast as we could. Thanks to my guys because they figured out the problems we were having yesterday and at least we have a bike that’s running! I think tomorrow we will have a good race.”

Sergio Verbena – Crew Chief

“We are not completely satisfied, we will be starting in the 15º position tomorrow 4 seconds from the first but for how the weekend began we should be content. Yesterday we had rain and problems with the electronics and couldn’t make many laps and today it was like starting from zero in terms of the setting, we found a good solution and Colin was quite happy with it. During this morning’s session it rained again and didn’t make many laps. This afternoon Colin made a big improvement. From yesterday to today we mad a big step and now we need to keep working on that direction and see what happens tomorrow since we still don’t know if it will be a dry or wet race.”
