SX LITES: Emig Breaks Down Lites East Title Fight
While Justin Barcia looks to be in control of the Supercross Lites East title race, Jeff Emig says it's simply too early to know for sure.

It’s simply too early to give the Eastern Regional Championship to Justin Barcia. Anything can happen in a short championship like the Supercross Lites regional title fights.

However, I am very proud of what Justin Barcia has accomplished despite his wrist injury. It would have been easy to use it as an excuse but he hasn't done that.
Dean Wilson’s ride in Jacksonville was huge. He’s had a rough couple of races. But, as I said before, this is a short series and one week could change everything. He’s not out of this yet.

I'm also proud of Ryan Sipes for earning that first win. He has shown incredible patience and determination in his career. Hopefully that win can boost his confidence and belief in himself that he can win and lead to more success as the championship winds down.

As for Blake Baggett, not qualifying in Jacksonville might have just sealed his fate. In any case, Blake needs to live and learn because nobody said this would be easy. I’m not trying to sound corny, but this kid is rad! I’m sure he will be back on top soon. There is no better motivator than having a bad race with a chance to redeem yourself the next weekend. Keep an eye on him.

If I had to guess who will come out on top and the end of this championship, I just don’t think I could. It’s been such an incredible season so far in this class and it’s been proven that any rider can win on any given night. I bet it will be the guy who wins at the end! It’s just too hard to say right now.
