It’s only been two races, but the Supercross Lites West Region Championship title fight is shaping up to be a memorable tilt. While Cole Seely and Dean Wilson have split the victories, neither man sits atop the point standings.

Pro Circuit runner Tyla Rattray boasts that envious distinction, and as a result the South African will carry the red number plate into competition this weekend signifying him to the crowd and his rivals alike as the championship leader. Rattray is the only rider in the class to land on the box through the first two main events and thanks to that consistency, has wrested control of the early stages of this championship fight.

However, Rattray’s advantage is a mere point ahead Seely, who backed up his win with a fifth-place effort last weekend. As for Wilson, his victorious rebound from a tough opening round served as a huge statement in Phoenix, and now he’s just two points removed from his teammate atop the points.

Frenchman Marvin Musquin shares the third position in the championship with Wilson and is quickly building confidence thanks in large part to his first Supercross podium result scored last weekend. Another pair of points back is arguably the fastest rider in the class thus far this season, GEICO Honda's Eli Tomac. The second-year rider has finished third and fourth through the first two weeks of competition, however, if not for terrible starts in each, he would likely be the target everyone else is chasing at this point.
