SX: Millsaps Tops Canard In A1 Shocker
As the pre-race favorites stumbled, Davi Millsaps and Trey Canard shined in their remarkable battle for victory at A1.

Ryan Dungey put the factory Red Bull KTM on the podium in third, albeit a significant margin back of first and second. The methodical Minnesotan was in fourth and threatening to move into the mix over the race's opening half but suffered a tip-over and dropped well off the chase. However, he was elevated back into a podium position thanks to Barcia's subsequent mistake.

Dungey said, "I had a little mishap. For about half the race I was right there but couldn't make that push. We'll work on some stuff; everything felt great tonight and we're right where we want to be."

TwoTwo Motorsports' Chad Reed finished a quiet and distant fourth, but the Australian will almost certainly gladly accept that result, at least when comparing it to the evenings endured by fellow class kings Stewart and Villopoto.

Stewart gritted out a painful eighth after injuring his knee during the day's practice, while two-time champ Villopoto suffered through a disastrous main event.

The Monster Energy Kawasaki ace's poor start was exacerbated by a run off course, a high-speed crash, a third incident, and ultimately an uncharacteristic 16th-place finish.

His teammate, Jake Weimer, fared significantly better, rounding out the top five. Weimer was followed by '12 race winner Andrew Short, the remounted Barcia, Stewart, JGR's Justin Brayton, and fan favorite Kevin Windham, who completed the race's top ten.

No doubt Villopoto will be out for revenge when he carries his #1 plate and three-peat hopes into next Saturday's stop in Phoenix, AZ.
