With the world’s best riders providing some of the most captivating on-track battles in the 38-year history of Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, Feld Motor Sports® is pleased to announce record-setting growth through the first part of the 2012 season.

From on-site attendance at the races, to pit party attendance, television ratings, digital platform views, and social media traffic, Monster Energy Supercross is experiencing record pace growth.

Coming off a record setting attendance figure of 820,000 for the 2011 season, the 2012 Monster Energy Supercross Championship is currently 1% ahead of 2011, and on track to set a new attendance record. Through the first nine races, over 460,000 fans have passed through the turnstiles, including three sell-out crowds at both Angel Stadium in Anaheim races, as well as Atlanta’s Georgia Dome. Both the eighth and ninth race of the season from Atlanta and St. Louis also set single-race attendance records of 71,009 and 59,742 respectively.

In addition to watching the racing action unfold out on the track each week, the Monster Energy Pit Parties have hosted more traffic than ever over the first half of the season, also experiencing an increase over the 2011 season with over 220,000 fans taking part in the pit parties to date. The Monster Energy Can Redemption initiative has not only proved to be hugely beneficial in Monster Energy Supercross’ efforts to Go Green, but with its complimentary access to the Pit Party, it has enabled hundreds of thousands of fans the opportunity to get up close and personal with the stars of the sport and experience what the championship’s prominent sponsors have to offer.

The groundbreaking new television broadcast package with SPEED and CBS Sports has produced the highest ratings Monster Energy Supercross has ever seen, thanks in large part to the 10 LIVE SPEED shows this season. Since the opening race in January, SPEED has recorded staggering ratings increases in M35-54 (20% increase over 2011) and M18-49 (14% increase over 2011). To cap it all off, the LIVE broadcast from Atlanta, on February 25, produced the highest ratings ever for Monster Energy Supercross.

In total, the Atlanta race was the single-most watched Monster Energy Supercross race of all time, both in person, on television, and through the exclusive behind-the-scenes web and social media video content.

The exclusive weekly Supercross LIVE! online video platform that has been rebranded and revamped this season is posting epic numbers of viewers. Over 1.8 million viewers have watched the exclusive online video content to date, increasing at a rate of over 200,000 views per week.

The record number of digital viewers doesn’t end with the Supercross LIVE! online video content. The Monster Energy Supercross Facebook page recently surpassed 1 million fans, experiencing 140% growth over last season. Just last week alone, Monster Energy Supercross’ Facebook page received a record-breaking 76,000 new likes.
