The 2011 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series season, which wrapped up last weekend in Las Vegas, was the highest rated in the five-year history of SPEED broadcasting its events.

Eight live race broadcasts – topping the six races featured in 2010 – combined with one of the closest points battles in the sport’s history, led to a .27 average household (HH) rating (210,000 HH impressions) and .35 HH rating (101,000 HH impressions) in the key male 35-54 demographic. In addition, the 2011 season HH ratings grew 29 percent over 2010 (.27 to .21) and 52 percent (.35 to .23) with M35-54.

“It’s been called ‘the greatest Supercross season ever,’” said SPEED President Hunter Nickell. “They went to Las Vegas with four riders having a chance to win it all. We have great partners in Feld Motor Sports and the folks at Daytona International Speedway (DIS), and they promote some of the most intense racing anywhere.”

Along with a solid rating in the Las Vegas finale, which enjoyed a 28 percent increase in HH impressions (.23 to .18) and a 71 percent bump with M35-54 (.29 to .17) over the previous season, this year’s annual Daytona event held at DIS boasted the highest-ever HH impression for an AMA Supercross race in network history at 331,000.
