RUBEN XAUS | Ducati 1098 RS | 4th and 1st classified: “Today’s win is special to me: I fought against the rider I have learnt more from, a hard case as only Troy Bayliss can be. I did it in Italy in front of the people which I consider to be my followers and I gave a big result to my team. After having come close to the podium several times and got the forth position four times, I wanted the win and I powered to all
MAX BIAGGI | Ducati 1098 RS | Retired and 2nd classified: “I would like to thank the Italian followers which were fantastic and I congratulate to my teammate and to the team for the excellent work done. In race-2 I got fun, I started with great determination although I came from an hard race-1 ended with a crash that was not my fault. Ruben had an excellent pace, quicker than mine; we passed each others a couple of times and then I picked up a wise choice: I quitted to attack my teammate in order to avoid to loose time which would have complicated the recovery on Bayliss and Corser. In the final part of the race I had a quicker pace and I was able to easy pass them getting finally back on the podium”.
ALEX POLITA | Ducati 1098R | 1st classified in STK1000: “I got it. Everything has worked perfectly: me, the bike, the team. I get back on the highest step of the podium after two seasons and I have the satisfaction to got it in front of our Italian followers. It was a hard fought battle in which I had a lot of fun and which has given me back the chance to fight for the championship top position. Now I’m in third place just 17 points behind Simenon. It is not a big gap considering that I still have 5 rounds to recover. I also recorded the fastest lap of the race, I was really in a excellent form”.
MARCO BORCIANI | Team Manager: “I’m really glad about today’s results. That is just what we needed after the polemics of the past weeks. We showed how even a private team can win thanks to hard work, organization, and determination. Our riders have ended a heavy period with a big result. Furthermore it’s important to have got back to the battle for the Superstock 1000 Championship, one of our seasonal goals.”
