PROGRAMMING NOTE: The USA Round of the Superbike World Championship from Miller Motorsports Park will air back-to-back on SPEED on Monday, May 31 at 5:00pm and 6:00pm EST.

Wenglishman Chaz Davies comes into the American round of the World Supersport Championship at Miller Motorsports Park as something of an adopted home crowd favorite. Having raced for a number of years Stateside before returning to world championship competition, the former AMA ace will have plenty of support as he seeks his third podium result of the 2010 season.

After Saturday's opening session in which Davies ranked seventh best on his ParkinGO Triumph Daytona 675, he huddled with friend and AMA Superbike star Josh Hayes to plan his attack for the day's upcoming qualifying session.

Davies said, "It's nice to come back to Miller although I can't say I remember the track all that well really. I only rode it two years ago but that was the other configuration. I rode this one in 2007. But it's nice to be here. I suppose it's kind of like a home race. A little bit. More homey than any other race besides Silverstone."

Davies, a lifelong two-stroke specialist before making a midseason Supersport appearance at Mid-Ohio in 2006, transitioned from 125s to 250s to four-stroke inline fours and later V-twins. This season Chaz finds himself adapting to yet another configuration as he learns the nuances of the Triumph triple.

It's gone quite smoothly as he currently sits fourth in the standings with two thirds and two fourths to his name.
