The DP01 was never designed to survive a high speed impact. Ask TK which car he would rather have been when he hit he wall at Indy.

Sorry, I've never known TK to ever be in a Champ Car DP01 to give an honest reply to that.
Also, I know for a fact that the DP01 was tested for standards above what is deemed normal by the FIA.

Seeing as PT broke 2 vertebrae in a relatively low speed impact at Long Beach, the safety of the DP01 has to be questioned.

You are correct about the back injury to PT.
However that was immediately corrected by a redesigning the seat alignment in all the DP01's.
