SpeedTV should pay for the Evo and the Dart

WTF, there is a concrete block in the middle of the challenge? That is crazy, and dangerous. SpeedTV should be liable for that, it's insane. The airbags went off and everything. Major safety concerns, I think. They should pay for the car.
And the Dodge Dart got rolled too? WTF, unsafe course.
The challenges should but on a track and in a controlled environment that doesnt include concrete block in the middle of them.
Team VW needs to shut the hell up regarding the speeding of the other teams. They are not representing VW well at all.

Do u think what u write.
Why should Speed/Bullrun pay for the Dart, when it was Paul's fault, its a good thing he was ok.
Also i dont know what show u were watching the concrete block wasnt in the MIDDLE it was far away from the finish line. Need to learn ur object placements.

JackF1,
I could not disagree with you more. You are simply wrong on all three points.
1. The concrete block was not even ON the course, let alone "in the middle" of it. The Evo driver decided beforehand to take that line, and to stay on the gas after crashing through the gate (which was idiotic, as the challenge timing ended when the car made it through the gate). Other competitors advised the hard-headed Evo driver to take a different line on the course exit, but he wouldn't listen, and it cost their team their car. Interestingly, even if he'd NOT crashed, they STILL would have lost to the Dart.
2. Playing in the dirt AFTER the challenge was entirely Paul's idea, and rolling the car was entirely his fault. It's a good thing Tony wasn't in the car with him, and it's lucky Paul didn't hurt himself. Paul said it himself - it was dumb, and it cost their team. You would never see the Solstice or the Lexus or the Shelby teams doing that crap...
3. What would you have the VW guys do, keep quiet? They're the ones playing by the rules! There's $200,000 on the line; if it were me and there were teams that were cheating, I would call them out on it. The producers of the show should penalize the cheating teams; otherwise, why even have rules?

Taz is right.
Team Evo chose to go off course at a terrible cost. No one wants to see a team total out like that, its very unfortunate.
I predict the Dart (a little worse for the wear) will be on the starting line for the next leg. Huge props to all the competitors pulling together to help another team out.
If it was you behind the wheel of a Porsche powered Vdub and you followed the rules and had to watch people get ahead of you by cheating you'd call them out too.
However... i think that speeding rule is more to legally covers the shows ass rather then in place to penalize drivers.

Ok, i still disagree. When a car takes the wrong line like you mention Taz a concrete cinder block should not be in the path of that line. The Evo carried that much speed to the end because they were the first to go, the other teams learned from their error and let off at the end.
The Dart crashing illustrates more that the course was unsafe, when that guy Paul was messing around he also hit a concrete block, WTF? If that was me out there I would be really concerned for my safety.
Team VW with a Porsche engine is silly. They are not repping VW well at all, there should be a R32 or S4 in there. All these guys do is whine about the speeding. Its called Speed channel.
I enjoy the discussion with you gentlemen.

You are wrong like everybody else pointed out to you, he went out of the course thus its hes own choice, deal with the consequences!

Who you are BSing?! ALL the teams knew about the course even ones that didnt participated! Evo didnt let off the gas after the gate because he wants to do the best time possible, what you fail to see was that they become airborne and could not break on time!

WTF? Who told you Dart crashed in the course?! He was having fun kicking dirt around and hit a concrete barrier, that his own stupidity, hes own fault and nobody else!Dart even admitted hes own mistake thus taking responsibility for his own actions, unlike you hes is not blaming the course, SpeedTV, BULLRUN..etc
If that was me out there I would be really concerned for my safety.
Thats right and its your right so most likely you will never be there, IF you stand in the rain , YOU WILL GET WET!

The only part that I agree with you, VW should shut-up!!

i do believe that speed should pay to fix evo's and not kick them off the race because they never have should race in thoose hazzardest areas
howerver, they should not pay to fix team darts car because it was his fault that he wrecked his car he was the one trying to show off and he paid the consquences

Evolution was purely a driver error, he didn't turn the correct way on the course. SpeedTV shouldn't pay for their damage. The Dart shouldn't of gotten overly excited, and could of easily not flip his car, SpeedTV shouldn't pay for this car either.
The VW Team also really needs to shut up.

Yep, they were very specific about the course, even had the drivers WALK the course before doing it. So there was NO reason for Evo to do what he did, except pure stupidity..but he was showing a lot of that all along. It was only a matter of time before Evo self destructed. And no, Speed/Bullrun doesn't owe them jack for the dumb stunts they pulled.....but it made for a very interesting show!! I for one was STUNNED AND DEVASTATED when both those cars got smashed. I don't care how big-mouthed any of them are, I'd hate that to happen to any nice vehicle.

Ok...does anyone think maybe...just maybe it's not as cut and dry as the show makes it seem? The one guy who owned the EVO seemed genuinely shocked that those concrete blocks were there. He clearly didn't blame the driver (as evidenced by the hug afterward). Supposedly he told one of the members of Team Avalanche that he was "gonna run it out straight." Why is there no clip of Team Avalanche saying that? Only people who hated the EVO guys saying that it was said 3rd person... There is no getting around the fact that ultimately the contestants are responsible for what happens to them... However, doesn't Bullrun have an obligation not to put them in situations where they could get seriously hurt by making a relatively minor mistake? Finally, just look at the runs...there is no way that EVO was slower than the dart. The dart looks like he's driving Miss Daisy through the course...it's pretty clear that the owner of the EVO blamed Bullrun for his accident. To protect themselves from liability, they kicked them off the show and ran a half-hour hit job on their case. Love the show, but they are responsible for replacing the car and any bodily injuries suffered by these amateur (remember, these are not professionals, they will make mistakes) drivers which occur while participating in the show. On the other hand, the dart guy did that on his own time doing something completely unsanctioned...it's on him. Curiously though...he was way more wrong...where was the 10 minute segment of drivers saying how wrong and stupid he was?
