LOL, no the wife an I actually watch ALMS, Rolex and the F1 races.
We used to watch the Rally races, FIAGT, German touring cars, etc but they removed those years ago.
Can't even stand a minute of what my wife refers to as the "roundy rounds".
Racing not sitcoms

Yep, Only two rounds of Nascar even get shown on my TV. Sears Point and Watkins Glen! I have to admit it is fun watching those guys sling those heavy ass cars around a Road Circuit!! Other than that....the most boring thing I have ever witnessed!! I refer to it with my wife as " WWE wrestling in cars" LOL!!
Cheers Bro!!

As I said in another thread, funny how we all have different ideas of what "Real" racing is. I'm an open wheel fan; CART (before IRL), F1 and begrudgingly the new IRL . I do like all forms of motorsport however including Unlimited Hydroplanes and Airplane racing. I don't dislike Nascar but I am weary of the 40 or so hours a week dedicated to all things Nascar.
What happened to Victory by Design, The Goodwood Festival, the Monteray historicals or the Pebble Beach Concours?
If you are going to show re-run lets see somthing with class.

Hey Blackduck,
Your right. We all do have different ideas of what real racing is. The problem is exactly as you have said...The 40+ hours of repetitive BS. I LOVE the Goodwood festival..What did happen to that? Oh yeah..NASCAR, Pinks, Wrecked, Bullrun and other countless "reality" based shows!!!

JagBro...If they bring in a show that is based on that subject of Lawyers...I will cancel the extra $30.00 it costs me for the upgrade to get speed and I would hope alot of other people would too. Right now the USA is a laughing stock of the entire world. Our once great AMA series that has brought World level talent to the World Stage (Eddie Lawson, Watne Rainey, Kenny Roberts, Wes Cooley, Colin Edwards, Randy Mamola and most recently Ben Spies) Come on...Not everyone in the USA wants to grow up to drive NASCAR. Some of us still like the much more demanding discipline of Road Racing!!
Agreed, the US is now the butt of more jokes than not and NASCAR is a big part of the problem. But some of us see NASCAR and its popularity as a symptom of a bigger problem. We - at least a growing majority of us - don't want to have to do any mental work associated with thinking; we want it all done for us. Simplified to the point of being able to approach it with complete stupidity and loving it.
But more to the point, it's what NASCAR has done to the perception of racing in America the rest of the world has. Racing in America had been dumbed-down to the point of being a mind-numbed left-turn-only exercise that doesn't require any talent. It's no wonder Michael Schumacher questioned Montoya's decision to race in NASCAR when the former Williams and McLaren driver left F1.
The AMA situation is one I'm not familiar with.

Speedvision used to be my favorite channel by far, back when they lived up to their name and had lots of racing on. I loved it when they would show a repeat car or bike race late at night.
Now that they have bought into that great plague of mankind, reality tv, I never tune in unless to catch an F1 or motorcycle race on occasion.
Whoever is responsible for the "lifestyle" programing should be whipped. speedtv? more like wannabetv

Or how about making them watch those same reality shows we all hate! How about a marathon of Bullrun for those corp suckups who sold us out for MTV :(

Right, and give the networks theirs for giving birth to the idea in the first place.
