I'm not watching quali at home now. But I haven't noticed an issue with info being chopped on my Dish Network feed. Are you watching on an HD TV, and using a zoom mode? I have issues with chopping in the zoom modes on my HD TV.

It is INDEED bush league. The problem was not there during the Aussie GP, however it popped up during ALL of the Malaysia sessions. It's unacceptable. Here's some evidence :

Aus GP (perfectly fine, they did have a problem during Quali, but they fixed it during the middle of the session):

Malaysia GP (notice how I can see HALF of the lap count/timer icon) :

Chinese Quali (notice how the lapcount/timer is almost 80% un-seeable, and the P1 block is totally missing) :

Very first year I've had problems with this on Speed. Very disappointing.

Some information on my setup, this is an SD-TV with DirecTV as my provider.

I was going to make a post about this problem earlier today, I'm glad (or made even more mad) that others are also having this problem and voicing their displeasure.

Watching it on Speed's HD channel with AT&T;U-verse and I have no issues at all with the display at any time. Maybe it's just the non-HD feed?

Yes, I know it's not true HD. THere just may be some difference in how the non-HD channel's feed works.

The problem seems to be WORSE now! I can only see from P2 down on the left hand time sheet and the clock is compleatly gone. And because SPEED finds the need to not follow the qualifying session live I cant even follow timing and scoring online to keep up with what time pole is as its off the screen..

Not to mention the commentators are telling were the car they are following placed in the lineup two or three second before the car even crosses the line.

Yeah, it's pretty bad.

The only way to tell who is leading Q and with what time, or how much time is left in the session is on the off chance that Varsha mentions it. That's iffy at best...and during the race we won't know the lap count.

Bob...are you listening?

Apparently there are quite a few of us out here with this problem. Maybe you could help us out with some timely updates.

I hope I'm not the only person watching F1 that has the lap count and p1 position cut off the top of my TV screen.

Nope here in Jax FL, with Comcast I am have been having the same issue on the standard def Speed channel. I was contemplating on posting here if it was just me. Tomorrow I will be watching it on the HD Speed channel to see how it is. And yes I know it isn't really HD

Speed just needs to man up and broadcast the race in the 16:9 format on there non HD feed. There are sooooo many benefits to having it 16:9 vs the disadvantage of having black edges on the bottom and top of the screen.

Ive "borrowed" a taped race from the BBC broadcast and put it on my TV and it makes the cars look so much faster. Basically speeds broadcast cutting it down to 4:3 makes it like looking through a toilet paper roll vs 16:9's wide open spaces.

This.

It's kinda ridiculous for SPEED to be blaming the provider when they have the power to take matters in their own hands and to take the provider completely out of the equation when it comes to these "safe areas", etc.

I thought there were two world feeds, a 4:3 and a 16:9. That is why in the practice at Australia the info was cut off on the SD channel until they switched to the 4:3 feed, meaning the 16:9 feed has the graphics package pushed around differently.

Here's how the 16:9 cropped to the 4:3 SD channel was displayed in Australia.

Here's the 4:3 feed in Australia.

4:3 SD feed in Malaysia.

I did noticed that if I watch F1 on my bigger TV the world feed is awlful i can't see the drivers track positions and timing. But when i switch over to my smaller tv everything is on screen and I can see the race stats in full on Directv.
