Hope Ana is okay; have we heard about her condition?
She's fine, totlly uninjured.
Her helmet hit the steering wheel apparently.

It is welcome news to hear she is OK.

The sprint race qualifying was the worst ever! Red flags all over the place, cars dying all over, and time running down and the teams can't do anything about it. Ugly..just ugly!

In terms of the championship, Ireland looks to be in a good position to pick up points. Netherlands is the dark horse in the championship fight. Teams get to drop their worst round since not all the teams made the first race and with Mexico being confirmed - there is another 2 races to score points in.

NED might be a dark horse.. but Algarve is Bobby D's last A1 race for the year; they'll probably get Bleekmolen -- he's a good driver; But Doornbos shakes things up.
Wow, John Watson was riding Marco -- While we were on an Andretti onboard-- John Watson says;
"There's an apex there son.., no need to be 20 feet away from it." (then added something like..)
"Maybe he thinks he's at Indianapolis doing some sort of oval business."
At another point John Watson also talking about Marco Andretti saying: (paraphrase)
"He's just here to learn about Road Racing; the team knows he's not up to the level of the people around him."
Then, Marco pops up 8th on the timing charts. (above Liuzzi) That was sweet revenge.
Europeans didn't understand Mario Andretti, Jaques Villenueve or Juan Montoya's wide outside racing lines either.,

Apparently there won't be a live stream from the A1GP website for this race. Does anyone know of an alternate feed? Please PM me - I don't want to wake up a 6 am for nothing.

"Due to satellite issues beyond our control, there will unfortunately be no live streaming service available on Sunday 12 April. Raceday action can still be followed on A1GP.com with A1GP.com’s new live DASHBOARD service, live timing and text updates. Highlight videos of the action will be available on A1GP.com within four hours of the race finishing. For details of where you can watch Vodafone A1GP Algarve on a TV channel near you, please click here."
LOL NASCAR people still don't understand Juan's racing lines.
How did the tire strategy and power boost stuff affect qualifying? The detailed synopsis of qualifying on the website doesn't really seem to address it.

ON Live Stream:
Wow ... that is a bummer; I was really looking forward to this race; Liuzzi in there is a wild card. I haven't found a good alternate stream (yet) If I get lucky .. I'll be back.
On Montoya:
I wonder if Juan is still trying to re-live Talledega nights..

(Trying to bring F1 lines to NASCAR).
On Andretti:
Yeah.. I think Marco likely used Power boost in his final lap. But still.. he did ALOT better than John Watson was probably expecting (or giving him credit for..) other drivers were probably on power boost too.
8 out of 20 ain't bad anyway you slice it -- he and the team apparently did the right thing at the right time.
That's Q3 stuff in F1 terms.
Speaking of John Watson -- In the post race Interviews JW was asking Bobby D essentially how he's getting so much out of the car this weekend.
As some of us fans of multi-racing Series already know.. Robert Doornbos had just finished an IndyCar test on the high-banked, high-speed Oval at Texas Motor Speedway -- alledgedly hopped right on a plane to land in Algarve.
Doornbos said, A. (paraphrasing) That he is happy to be
'driving a 'downforce car' again.,' Saying further that he's spent most of his time racing in Europe in cars with heavy downforce & the IndyCar Dallara-Honda has very little downforce and no power steering and was hard to drive."
And Further B. after driving at Texas at over 216 mph.. the fast corners at Algave.. don't seem fast anymore.
Pretty interesting stuff.
As I was wondering how the two cars & two series compared in Bobby D's expereince., since he's doing them back-to-back.

The thing I didn't get about that comment was that every other driver was taking the same line through that bend that Marco did, they all stay a few feet away from the apex through that turn to get a better run into the next corner.
The way John Watson was going on about Marco, if you didn't know anything about him you would think he'd never raced on a road circuit before & you woudn't know that he finished 3rd in the Sepang feature race earlier in the A1GP season.
Its fair to critisise but I don't think its fair to make it sound like he's only ever raced Oval's & is totally new to road racing.
