Has anyone else noticed the amazing Red Bull rear end..?

They went totally extreme with the shark fin and have extended it above and below the rear wing. Everyone who is complaining about the rear end swinging out needs to take a hard look at this… The rear shot of the car with 9:30 to go in Q3 shows how clean the rear of that car is. Everyone else has their push rod suspension, exhaust and sidepods creating a lot of lost aero potential but Red Bull is taking every little bit of advantage back there possible. The upper A-Arm crosslink is almost floating and there is another rear wing element that gets A LOT of clean air.

EVERYONE needs to be copying this next year. I am also totally amazed at the rake on the tension rod… That is an absolutely AMAZING rear end…

I agree that their packaging is great, but this year they are going to suffer with it's development because of the DDD. They introduced one for this race, but if you look at the technical updates on the F1 website it is considerably smaller than the Brawn GP or others.

I wouldn't be surprised if next year Red Bull Switches to a more traditional push rod rear end for better aero gains with a larger diffuser. I think that is the only reason teams may choose to think twice about that design.

If someone said to me that you can have three wishes, my first would have been to get into racing, my second to be in Formula 1, my third to drive for Ferrari.

Newey has already stated that to go to a full two tier diffuser, he will have to rethink the pull rod suspension as the floor has to change and the pull rod rockers are in the way....

it's a battle between the sport's 2 best designers (although Byrne is credited as designer of the Ferraris)over the last 15 years or so...
now, it's a development race between the 2 best... I LOVE it!
