The problem with SPEED is that they have so few advertisers that the ad's are sickeningly repetitive.

And they are targeted at the same demographic as the majority of the programming. Look at the bright side though, Texas Hardtails finally gave up advertising.

My dealer uses Castrol varieties and I've stuck with them. As much as I hate their commercials, including the dime-in-nose ads running now, I'll continue to use them.

I pay little attention to commercials anyway.

I go through several thousand gallons of Castrol oil and lubes a year, so occasionally I get a call from London (Castrol is owned by British Petroleum), asking me to respond to their survey questions. At they end of the survey they ask for any further comments. This last time I asked the fellow to convey to Castrol the fact that, IMO, their commercials suck. The fellow seemed quite surprised. Even asked me to repeat myself. Which I did. Apparently the message didn't get through.
BTW, in response to an earlier question about how long someone's oil went, based on sampling, I can relate this: A Detroit Diesel rep who calls on me mentioned that he uses Mobil 1 in his company car. Because of the mileage he runs changing it every 3000 mi was a hassle, so he started doing oil sampling. Didn't see any degradation till 25,000 mi. He now changes his oil at 20,000 mi. I've used Mobil 1 for over 20 years, even in my lawn mowers. My '87 Camaro had 225,000 mi and the engine was perfect. The body fell off...

since I watch so little of what's on SpeedTV live, I can just fast forward through the inane commercials wink

I guess that's the upside to having so little racing programed during times normal working people can watch...

Yep me too. Even "live" F1 races I wait about 1/2 hour then start watching. I do not have to see or hear those inanities anymore. I do that with almost all TV. Although I will stop for Mac/PC ads if they are new, they are usually funny and I a Mac guy.

There has to be a rather tasteless Jeremy Mayfield joke in there somewhere.
