Judging by the ratings, there aren't many IRL fans left. F1 doesn't do all that great in the US. Heck nobody else does for that matter.
Right or wrong, NECKCAR just has a lot more fans.

I am a fan of all kinds of racing from ALMS,Moto GP,F1, and even less so of NASCAR and their never ending commercial.I am a diehard who longs for real men driving real race cars and not a cookie cutter COT car or as a worse example an IRL go cart. Remember when the Indy 500 was a race with a multitude of different cars where new technologies were invented and tried on the track? NASCAR is just providing what the ticket buying public wants.They want little E because he is an untalented hick like them and SPEED is riding on the coattails of this and raking in the cash.Money talks and NASCAR is where the money is right now.The majority speaks I suppose!

Talladega nad Daytona always bring out the NASCAR fans! Not to mention the F1 championship is already decided... and now the NASCR championship is as well

Bingo! Speed and nascar have to go with the lowest common denominator, rednecks and hillbillies, who have to be fed for them to understand anything. That is why they cater those programs that leave your brain full of mush instead of really learning anything or gaining a feeling of any satisfaction.

Thing is, that Nascar, just said in the 'townhall' posting on the home page, that they have to 'spin' ratings. Those words came from the Hacks in Nascar who have basically reduced the one time fun time to the boring, totally vanilla, snooze fest, all in the name of safety. you can't safety out racing, it is dangerous, and Nascar can't seem to understand that. And now they are demanding that drivers not touch or pass or drive fast, give me a break. They just don't want to admit that they messed up with the COT and will not change it.
