Back in high school I worked for a lawn contractor. There was an older gentleman that had a Veterinary clinic next to the local dirt track for longer than I can remember and we mowed his lawn weekly. Other than an occasional "bark" from the overnight patients he had, neither he, nor any of his many clients ever complained about the noise. Upon retirement, the gentleman sold his practice to a young "politically correct" Veterinarian who publicly voiced his opposition to a noisy race track next to HIS business. The locals won the lawsuit and pretty much "put him in his place" (and he lost many clients), stating that the race track was there long before he bought the practice and he knew it was there prior to moving there. He eventually moved his practice elsewhere.
Race tracks and gun clubs will always be noisy, and the idiots who complain know that when they move there.

^ Same for railroads, freeways, and airports... yet when someone gets a good deal on a housing purchase, they fail to take into consideration "why" they are getting such a good deal.

In Cottage Grove, this lady (for lack of a more fitting word) bought a house on top of the hill. Her house is as close to the Interstate as the law will allow, and it is on a grade, so the big rigs use their Jake-brakes heading north. The race track is a good 1.5-2 miles away...yet she'd call in and complain about the noise every Saturday night. However, the city council, many of whom own businesses that either outright sponsor or just sit back and profit from the local racers, refused to do anything to help her plight. She finally gave up her fight and moved away. cool smile
