Well as much as I hated to see the split, and the good/bad of the ICS the past few years, it just really shows the state of open wheel racing here. It's a shame his staff is laid off and hopefully everyone lands on their feet with the holiday season fast approaching.

This team and driver hopefully make it back on the grid next season.

"but the truth and reality is that while we are happy that some members of our crew have moved on to pursue new opportunities"

It sounds like some saw the writing on the wall and left before they were laid off.

Race teams layoff people in the off season except for a few of the elite teams. They did the same last year.I guess we have to find something bad.LOL. IZOD and 10 million dollars annually for a title sponsor. Power back fulltime and how many days has it been again for Brasil.LOL. I hope I spelled correctly for some of you.LOL.

It may not be good news on the car count front, but it is ironic.

I still say that he should have gotten into the car owner circle a long time ago. He would have had first hand knowledge about what it REALLY takes to fund a team for a season, and get good crews and try to be competitive. In my view, before he did this, he had no clue how his ideas affected the guys on the track or in the garages. Now, he knows what it is like to try and get sponsors and try to find money that is not from your personal account.

Maybe some one will buy the teams stuff and the car count will remain. Penske will need more stuff, next year. I wonder if TG will have a good sale on the stuff he can't afford to keep.

PLN_Fan, do you and Revel both have bean bags? My god, already on the car count thing. Its not even November but you are running out of stuff to complain.LOL. I know that wont happen. The reason I responded was your idiotic statement about Tony George not realizing what it takes to be a owner in the league.

From what I was told it was the 21 team that got laid off after being on the payroll all year............ Maybe a couple more, but I was told the 21 team....... you know the one that hasn't existed since Milwaukee.

Just another sign that TG is not going to help the Sisters with car counts for the IRL or Indy.
He knows he can field one car financially but his help to the Sisters ends there.

Earl,

"The reason I responded was your idiotic statement about Tony George not realizing what it takes to be a owner in the league. "

Tony is on RECORD as saying her didn't realize how much it cost to run a race team, after he started Vision Racing. I think it was at that time he was even looking at Grand-Am for some reason. That makes my statement quite relevant. Not idiotic. Maybe you need to do some HISTORICAL research on the subject.

It still is a idiotic statement. Since when do take every word that Tony says as gospel. We all know he is not the most eloquent speaker at getting his point or message across. So it has been said, and so it has been written.LOL.
