I will continue my stance on this:

These tracks were built for the sole purpose of "lets see just how fast a Stock Car can go."

We have since found out that they can go way faster than reasonably safe for either the drivers or the fans.

I agree but that was back in the day when the word "Stock" in Stock Car actually had some meaning.

My Uncle had a 69 Boss 429 Mustang and it's shortblock was the same that Ford used in NASCAR, geez the thing even had magnesium valve covers. I don't think I can go to my local Ford dealer an buy a new Fusion with an FR9 engine or go to Dodge and get an Intrepid with an R6P8.

I agree with the opening post.

Get the cars off the ground in the first place with smaller tires and a more stock body to begin with and they won't be as ready to fly anyway.

Lose all THE AERO DEVICES.

When you can go around a track at 190 mph with the throttle floored, there is a major problem.

Reducing the cars capability to where the drivers have to again drive them will solve it.

Otherwise,it's time to start putting air brakes on the cars like there are on jets.
