Great news! Thank you IZOD!! In fact, I'm off to buy some of their IndyCar gear right now on Macys.com:

Absolutely perfect partner. Terrific news for the series.

Just give us the hardcore facts.
- 10 million (?) a year over how many years
- Does it include the 6 million given by IZOD in '09
- Where's the money going and how much
- Whose in charge of the planning the allocation of monies?
^ This is something I don't understand about most race fans of all different racing series.
Why do we think we are owed this kind of information? Does MLB put out that kind of information. Does the NFL keep the fans updated on their business? How about the NBA or NHL?
Why are we the ones who have to have this kind of information? What does it do for us in the end? Do we actually enjoy the racing to a greater extent by knowing the business of the league? Is it our business to know this stuff?
Do we demand to know or we'll take our interest and eyeballs elsewhere?
Help me out here 'cause I just don't give a rats about this kind of stuff. Am I missing out on the best part of being a racing fan?

Good question and a very fair one. You mentioned other sports such as the MLB, NFL, and NHL which are all doing considerably better then the ICS. The media coverage of each of these ball and stick sports is also way stronger then the ICS and thus even though sports like the NHL are struggling they don't seem to be by some fans because of coverage.
The ICS on the other hand has no media coverage outside of Indy and Danica and is on the verge of collapse mostly by bad business decisions and bad leadership. This has made AOW fans very wary of the way money is spent in AOW and why there is so much question when it comes to spending in AOW.
We don't want to see all this money given and not used in a positive manner - we want to see the money and in return see positive results. Do the fans know more about how to use the money then the CEOs of the ICS - probably not based on experience. Does that mean we can't be or should not be critical of the ICS because of our past experiences in AOW though, no.
What I learned as an AOW for many years is that if something looks too good to be true, it often times is. At least its not as great as it first looks and we have to critical because of these facts.

That's so interesting to me.
"
We have to be critical"....
I think that answers all my questions in a nice little snippet.
Restaurant critics aren't chefs but they have to be critical.
Movie critics aren't producers but they have to be critical.
I think I get it. Many here are being critical because they have to be and they're willing to offer it for free. How generous.

I just hope they have enough money left over to film a new commercial. Last couple of races I had to go outside every commercial break for fear that their repetition would drive me insane.

The repetitious IZOD commercial drives you nuts but the constant b#tching and moaning of Miller and about 90% of the posters on this board doesn't????

You aren't forced to read Miller or any of these posts. The commercials during the race are another matter. I got sick and tired of the Brigstone ads in Champ Car. " The wheel goes 'round and 'round..... " Yuck !
