Not sure where cdnfan is when watching F1 on SPEED. In Niagara we are blessed with Friday Practice only, on SPEED. Then Blackout. Then cut-down BBC feed on Canada's The Sports Network Want SPEED.

grimsbybud, I get Speed coverage on Shaw cable in Winnipeg. They give us Fri practice, Sat qualy, and Sun prerace and the race, with a rebroadcast later that day or later in the week. Would have to agree that the abreviated TSN/BBC coverage sucks. The only time we get blacked out is when there is an actual Canadian GP. And that totaly sucks, as TSN gives no additional coverage to our own Canadian GP, so we miss a lot. Seems that Bowling for Dollars, is more important to TSN than the biggest sporting event in the country. My only complaint about Speed's coverage would have to be when Fox takes over the broadcast of four of the Europeon races. We lose live coverage, and also the Speed pre-race show, they do usually rebroadcast those races, but never with any additional footage.

Hope Kobayashi's in for 2010. He looks really good; skill to race big names hard; savvy to not take either them or himself out. 2 races in, he looks like a "best ever" from Japan & more importantly, a podium contender right away, with the right car.

Honestly, I think Kobayashi will find a seat before the year is out. Japan is an important F1 market, and an exciting and potentially competitive Japanese driver is money.

cdnfan, Now I know why so many people like Winnepeg! Thanks for the Shaw info. I will be hammering TSN with the news of "no-blackouts". Shaw is moving into Ont. but, as satelite users, we're not going to get F1 on SPEED.

Why am I limited to 225 characters? Many, many posters are able to post double+, as does cndfan in response to my "beef" with TSN.

grimsbybud I think more of the problem with blackouts is the TV rights that TSN has to show the F1 telecasts in Canada, I don't know why some areas of the country are treated differently from others. As to posting more than 256 characters, that is easily accmplished by going to the view all comments section, click on it and on the far right hand side at the top or bottom of the page you will find a red post reply box. Click on that and it will give you a new message box that gives you the ability to post messages up to 6000 characters. I hope this helps. Cheers

I had no idea you guys had those F1 blackouts up there. And here I thought the best thing about Winnepeg was that was where A.A. Milne created Winnie The Pooh. I guess you really aren't way out there in the Hundred Acre Wood. I am a big fan of the Great White North, myself. Toronto has given us Rush, I love hockey, and Tim Horton's.
