ya know... It's kinda sad when a non S&P;driver like Papis has to go home and we have to watch two or three cars drive 5 laps and turn into the garage..

Yuppers ...
I think Max's car got slowed down when he smacked the wall during practice ...
Not sure if Bliss would've run the whole race ...

Bliss has been S&P;in all 11 starts this year in the 09 so it would've been the same this weekend if he made it.
This is the 17th straight season that Jeff Gordon has won a pole. Pearson has the longest streak at 19, then Richard Petty at 18.

Yup! I was surprised too. Texas used to be one of those races I'd look forward to for Dale Jr. along with Richmond, Bristol, Talladega, Daytona. Now, if I don't have any expectations, anything he does will be a pleasant surprise.

And he was getting very close to not extending that streak.... whew. Way to cut it close, Jeff.

“People ask me all the time, where does he stack up, comparatively? I’ve seen every great driver drive, I’ve seen every great driver win their championships. In my mind, this driver, this crew chief, this team is the all time best - bar none. I saw Petty, I saw Earnhardt, I’ve seen Gordon, I’ve seen Bill Elliott, Rusty Wallace, Terry Labonte, this is the best.”- DW on Jimmie Johnson
