You guys are missing much of the the main goal of Gordon Murray Design which was touched upon by the article. His projects are not just about the end product, the car, but about the entire manufacturing process. I encourage you to learn more and check out the company's website: http://gordonmurraydesign.com/index.php

Racers at the Isle of Mann this year raced electric bikes. The report in Motorcyclist was ironically very old school in that they were all about proving a new technology, like getting a Triumph to stop leaking. It is exciting but I would miss the noise too! It probably doesn't much matter what they've got the bits wrapped in for now; I'm sure it won't look like that when it comes to be sold.

Even a little web snoopin' shows Nissan (Leaf) and Toyota (iQ) ready to sell electric cars in North America in 2010 and Volvo and GM soon. Maybe the NIMBYs won't mind guys racing these silent, excemt for metal doors sliding down pavement, race cars. So, would a Nissan Leaf with a Renault KERS(Renault owns Nissan)be a new kind of hot rod?
