Cavin said on the radio that his understanding was that the IRL was getting 3-4 million in direct cash from the deal per year, separate from the $100k per car to the teams. You add in $2.5 million in TEAM money, plus whatever is spent on RHR's AGR ride (although some of that may be a B2B deal or two), $$$ to ABC/VS, plus activation and it's hard to see how that fits in the $10 million number. Particularly when they spent a decent amount in 2009 and intend to ramp things up.

Interesting that no one else has the same $15Mil a year figure as Cavin. Every other report including Millers latest say $10Mil.

Interesting that you're making sure to point out how terrible it must be that the league signed this deal... Oh that's right, it's the Brasil guy

(couldn't help it feel free to send cheaps shot back)

Where did he say it is terrible?

Really, all I said was interesting. Nor did I bad mouth the deal whether $10Mil or $15Mil.

It is sad how some want to turn everything into a pissing contest. I aslo find the different numbers interesting, surprised we havn't seen a lot of people calling Miller names for reporting a lower number than Cavin.

omg a title sponsor? RHR in a car full time? team money? Sponsor Activation? Mutah to NHL? ICS officials openly admitting what Danica can do on weekends off? I thought the world was ending...what happenned???

honestly, who cares about dollar figures, at the end of 6 years the series is stronger, better and getting credibility again in the media, it's all that should matter to us fans. Never thought I'd say but congrats to Brian B. and Terry A. for all of this work done.

You can't be anything but supportive of the IZOD sponsorship. I have to commend Angstadt for finally getting it to happen. We're still not out of the woods yet, but this is very important.

The series is stronger than it was 6 years ago ?

According to Miller's latest, this is the first REAL sponsor the series has ever had. While I commend the series for hiring a company to find the sponsor, I don't think we should give the league's top brass a pass on 13 years of no real sponsors.

I read somewhere that "activation" (whatever that means) wasn't actually included in the $10 million, which, if true, would be incredible. But I suspect that the $10 million is mostly just a big, round number that was close to the real thing (in which direction, I have no idea) and someone thought would sound good to announce.

This is the best Indycar sponsor since PPG. FedEx was a waste.
