That had to be painful for him to write.

at least he's keeping it positive and to the point. it's good for the series and for the racing he loves.

I agree IrieRon. Miller was remarkably sullen and even repressed to a degree in tone relative to his usual baseline banter.

Perhaps when Miller reports Ryan Hunter-Reay (whom he rightfully championed last off-season) formally joining the re-branded AGR with 3 American drivers under contract... his tone will be a little less conciliatory and instead be congratulatory.

It reads pretty straight forward to me. Lets face it, the league has been shooting itself in the foot for years, and the finally got something big right (they have a lot of small things right but this is big!).

Here's what I am seeing ...wow we have a sponsor, we have team and driver announcements and its freaking November. Usually this stuff is happening (or not) just before the first race weekend. This is all good to my eye.

I plan to spend the off season complaining about not being able to complain about any of those things CeeJay.

I love this line:

"Between billboards, TV commercials, magazine and newspaper ads and special IndyCar clothes and promotions at Macy’s all over the country this past season, IZOD has fallen for Indy cars like nobody thought possible in this economy."

I thought Izod would leave after RHR's ordeal last year. I am really greatful, but I still don't understand why anyone would want to invest in Indy. I think I eat sour grapes this year, but I will watch 2010 any hope for better things (like I do every year).

Robin was quick to point out that IZOD is spending actual money, on the right things.

I don't think it was "painful to write\", for Robin. Like many, he never thought he WOULD be writing it. It's a big surprise for most, even the ardent fans. For once, the series may have found a sponsor that DOES know how to market the connection, at least it seems so, initially.

Let's see how the series deals with this ray of hope.

Because NASCAR's price tag is way too high....and when was the last time you saw a NASCAR fan wear OR WANT anything Izod?
