Where in this article does it say that Ross Brawn is surprised that USF1 is not crash testing? Hahahaha!
Umm...It's RIGHT AT THE START OF THE ARTICLE. And a short bit later there's a quote from him regarding the issue.

Ummm, EuRoTrAsH351, how about the very 1st sentence. Instead of someone different writing, maybe you should get someone else to read for you. As far as USF1 making the grid next year, I believe that this, no crash testing, may be the biggest tell of all.

To state that he has expressed an opinion without a quote, and then quoting him on something else which could IMPLY the title of the article is not the same thing.

I also expected more from the RPM segment, but I have to believe that PW must know what he's doing - at least I hope. Maybe they are doing it all in 'virtual reality' before building the actual car. Whatever works for them and gets them to the grid...

Unfortunately, Gridgirl, until they use virtual drivers to drive the cars, they will be crash testing real cars. It's hard to tell what is really going on with USF1. PW promised that it would all be televised, yet all we have seen is a couple of machines and Steve Matchett in an un enthusiastic report "well, I saw people making parts". I would have thought the web site would be done by now.

You are both incorrect. The only direct quote from the proverbial horse's mouth is, "We have been crash testing for the new car for the past two months, to be ready for the official tests. A new team should be doing the same if it wants to be ready for the beginning of the season," the Briton added.
He did not mention specifically USF1. For all we know, he could have been talking about Campos GP and/or Manor GP. Your input is greatly appreciated Acquiesce.

It is crystal clear that Brawn is referring to USF1 not crash testing. When anyone is quoted in an article the question is not quoted as well.
Some people don't read very well or more likely they are in denial. Don't hate them, just hope they deliver your pizza on time.

It IS possible for them to do virtual crash testing. As I noted, Acura did it with the ARX-02a, and it came out fully accurate so they only had to do a couple of minor crash tests with the actual car.
And what do virtual people have to do with it? They don't put people in the actual cars they crash test.

The quote was from an article in a German publication that was focused SPECIFICALLY on USF1. It is QUITE obvious that he was referring at LEAST to USF1. And even if he was referring to ALL the new teams in general, the context of the article and quote still holds true towards the intended target: USF1.
Sorry, EuRoTrAsH, but YOU screwed up. Not SPEED.

They can place a "virtual person" in their computer models and when they actually crash test a car I believe they use an anatomically correct crash test dummy. Hmmm.... I sense a career opportunity for Piquet Jr there. He said he wanted to drive in F1 again - he wasn't specific!!!
Just being silly now.....
