ABSOLUTELY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Maybe you should create differentiated program schedules for different areas. I am in Manhattan and I have a feeling that in most of LA or Seattle or San Francisco few are interested in retarded programs like PINKS (it's worst than America's Next Top Chef, in my mind....).
I initially got digital TV years ago only to get Speed, which in Manhattan wasn't available on regular cable. I paid twice the cable bill to watch racing: F1, IRL, Champ Cars, Rolex Series, GP2, Rally, MotoGP, even NASCAR on road circuits.
And that is what I expect:80% racing, 10% news, 10% whatever BS you must run. Not the other way around. I can't care less of what a bunch of inked mechanics do in a garage and the fake drama of reality shows. I want racing, real racing.
And please, lose the ludicrous babe (she is not hot, by the way) that askes me every 10 minutes if I am ready to go all the way. It's stupid and tasteless. Maybe rednecks love that stuff....hence, 2 separate schedules, for normal people and for rednecks might work for everyone.
Less "shows"… more motorsports!

..yeah, you guys are right. There is a link running around you prolly saw re: your interest in a 'new' motorsports channel. On this site is a list of most, if not all, programs run since the SPEED Channel days...and I found myself thinking I'd much rather watch motorsports reruns...you remember, actual races? ..than the 'reality?' drivel now foisted on us. Yes, I do switch away...the sight of the pinks guy 'flagging?' off a drag race, standing in front of a perfectly good 'tree' was too much for me. And back when that type of start was the norm, during street races, a voluptous babe was always selected for that honor..at the track a flag was used to...flag them off. 'Box

And I also agree with this.

I think we all understand the equation: reality TV show = cheap to produce + morons yelling at each other = great sound bites for teasers. Actual motor racing = expensive to produce (purchase) + limited fan base for every series + no morons (except Paul Tracey) = more expensive and harder to sell.
So, I agree that I would like to see a Motorsports channel, but I think it will end up being in a cable sports package.
Kudos to speed. We get to see all of the Runoffs. Every F1 race. Most USA based road racing. I have become a Moto GP convert in the past two years. So much so that I miss 125 and 250 coverage. Yes, it sucks not having WRC, but I blame that on meatheads at Subaru, Mitsubishi and Ford. The Impreza, Lancer Evo and Focus all went way up in my list of coveted cars due to WRC coverage. I only remember Subaru really consistently funding the broadcasts.

The World of Outlaws run what, every other day of the week... There's an idea. Also replays of past races, they can even keep the original commercials or work out a deal if advertising is a problem. I'm sure THAT wouldn't create any issues :o
Add every ARCA race, more Australian stuff, and rally events. Just get back to racing and less shows. I agree completely.

Well they do show racing. But they seem to only be shown when people are at work or sleeping.
You have Lucas Oil On the Edge but that's on again before most get home. Racing Across America in the afternoon or after midnight.
Nascar replays of the Trucks, Busch and Cup are in the afternoon. No one is home.
When they do show Aussie Super V8's, British Touring Cars or the German Touring Cars it's after midnight.
What do they have one for us right now..........PINKS, Super Bikes and Whips. And don't get me started about that NOPI crap. The only people who watch that are the same ones that order the Victoria's Secret catalog so they can "read it" in the bathroom.
As for Whips, I don't know who enjoys watching a fat guy yell at people and does nothing unless your watching a rerun of All In The Family.
Rich if you want to screw someone out of their car than go on E-Bay and look for the dopes that list them with no reserve. And keep your bad Ralph Macchio Karate Kid impersonation indoors or just put it on YouTube where it belongs.
Show me racing old, new local what ever just show us racing.

You guys really don't get it. You are still thinking SPEED is a motorsports channel. It isn't. It hasn't been for several years now. Your obvious confusion stems from the fact that it WAS a motorsports channel, but those days are long past.
The current accountants/management/consultants/whoever have decided to abandon that and pursue the quick and easy money by pandering to the lowest common denominator. This should be evident whenever one of the SPEED koolaide drinkers comes on here to tell us that the things we want to see are "too expensive" or "don't get the ratings". Of course SPEED can't control the prices of individual programs, and ratings do drive advertising sales, but it seems that the adverts shown during the crap shows are commercials for other SPEED crap shows. Where are all the advertisers who are stampeding to buy time on these "highly rated" shows? And speaking of ratings, it surprises me very little that prime time programs that are saturation advertised draw more viewers that unadvertised programs aired during work hours and over night. Of course we all know that it has nothing to do with time slot, racing never pulls as big an audience as the mindless drivel...
So get over it, boys and girls, no-one here cares what you want to see. I've been on and around these forums for almost five years and absolutely nothing has changed except that they keep showing more and more of what everyone here has been complaining about for years. We are told that the members on the forum are such a small minority of SPPED viewers that our opinions aren't relevant. We're told that the things we would actually watch won't pull high enough ratings to be viable. We're told that we don't understand the dynamics of the television industry. You see, it's not that SPEED's programs suck, its that YOU like the wrong stuff! It's all about an easy bottom line.
Maybe one day there will be another Speedvision-type channel that has faith in the race viewing public and realizes that if you select a wide range of quality programming (as opposed to the same three or four low-buck shows repeated ad nausium every night of the week), the audience will come. Until then, Tivo the races when they come on at three in the morning and be thankful for the scraps they so generously throw us (It must be generosity since, as the koolaide drinkers tell us, there isn't any money in race coverage). I loved seeing the Daytona coverage today, though I'll never understand why they think it necessary to cut away from live coverage of a major international motor race to show Pinks repeats and an off road program that has aired twice today already, but I'll take what I can get and realize that the real motorsports channel is long gone.
Speedvision is dead - Long live Speedvision...

Hear, hear.
Speedvision used to be on my TV 20+ hours a week, SPEED might average a half an hour - that might be high but every now and then I watch an F1 race or a bit of an auction. Beyond that it's normally on long enough to say 'can you believe this crap is on TV?!?'. I hope the producers are proud, they pandering to morons.
This is the part where Ventured explains that just because I don't like it blah blah blah.
It's a shame - a pathetic shame.
