March 2nd, 1958: Four days after the race, Lee Petty is declared the victor of the 100 mile Nascar race at Concord speedway despite protests from Curtis Turner and Speedy Thompson. Scorecard data shows that Petty finished the 200 laps first although Turner started on the pole and led the entire distance.

March 2nd, 2008: Carl Edwards wins his 2nd Sprint Cup race in 6 days by holding off Dale Earnhardt Jr at Las Vegas. It is Edwards 9th career Sprint Cup win. Jeff Gordon and Tony Stewart both suffer hard crashes during the event.

March 5th, 1972: A.J. Foyt leads most of the way and posts a win in the second annual 500 miler at Ontario. ABC Sports, which televises the second half of the race live across the nation, reports a 12.3 rating.

March 5th, 1978: David Pearson rallies from a late spin and passes Benny Parsons to win at Rockingham. It is Pearson's 100th career win.

March 5th, 2008: Carl Edwards and his Roush Team are slammed by Nascar for rule infractions during post race inspection after his win in Las Vegas-Nascar penalizes Edwards and his car owner Roush 100 points a piece and takes hi 10 bonus points away for winning the event-crew chief Bob Osborne is also supsended for 6 weeks.
